Professor Japheth Kimanzi Gideon Mati and Margaret Mati
Professor
Mati is
the Director of the Institute for Reproductive Health Training and Research
in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a doctor, teacher, researcher and author and is
often referred to as the “Father of Modern Obstetrics and Gynecology in
Kenya and one of the pioneers of reproductive health in Africa.” Professor
Mati's wife, Margaret Mati is a RN and has a Masters in social
work. They conducted several discussion groups with the students and their
parents about growth and development emphasizing an appreciation of the
changes in their bodies as they grow up, as well as hygiene and other
pointers for living a healthier life.
