With the help of local Santa Barbara and Ventura County schools – Crane Country Day, Cold Spring, Chaparrall and Loma Vista, as well as American Riviera Bank, ERB Jewelry and individual donors, we purchased 1000 books to install a small library. 8-day Climb to the Top of Mt. Kilimanjaro

Oct. 13, 20138-day Climb to the Top of Mt. Kilimanjaro raised $9,575. This helped pay for 3 doctor’s visit to Esiteti for a medical clinic, the building of sleeping quarters for 10 teachers, and a women’s leadership program. Please read SBNewspress Kili article for details of the climb.

Crowdfunding for Alternative Rite of Passage for girls

Every girl from the Esiteti community will participate in a 2-day Alternative Rite of Passage program designed by ASK and the Esiteti Maasai community. Three ARP ceremonies a year will be subsidized through 2017. ASK raised over $15,000 during our successful crowdfunding campaign in 2013 thanks to all of our donors. Read More…
